Just bought 9 metres of new door seal to redo the whole lot.

Does anyone now the correct way to cut and fix the ends both where the come up from the door end to meet the targa just near where the roof meets the body and also where they come down from the targa frame to meet with the body.

Pictures would be a great help.

PS I dont trust the way mine are currently, I think they might have been done wrong and I do have wet carpets behind the seats.

I could take some pictures of mine if it's any help Frank? I'm pretty sure mine are in decent condition and also have the 'elephant ears' in place.

I'm not back at the house tonight but I'm off work tomorrow doing some stuff to the car anyway so I could take some pictures in the morning and post them up.

That would be extremely helpful.

No problem.

Just a thought regarding your damp carpets- I don't think I've ever seen your car with the roof up! scratchchinhehe

Wet carpets - can be a number of causes, but a common one is simply that the waterproofing of the hood needs to be re-done

Another good point thanks. I am going through the whole lot.

1. Re proofing done and waiting for good weather to renovo it to bring it back to a good colour.
2. New seals as per this thread.
E. Refix the velcro
4. Fix elephant ears.
5. New mohair on the hardtop.

NOTE FOR MODS

Weird forum behaviour.

This thread shows in "Chimaera" section but not in "TVR"

I wasn't able to get any pictures with the roof down as the wind is getting a bit crazy here at the moment and it keeps trying to rain, but hopefully these might be of some use.

I can get some better ones when the weather calms down (a garage is very much top of my wish list).

Thats a big help Dave, as I suspected my 'hoop seals' are a bit shorter than yours. Yours also looks very tight fitting where the mohair meets the targa hoop. If you get a chance when weather permits a pic of inner bit where the elephant ears are would be the icong on the cake. I will use those pics as a design to aim for.

Thhanks again.

No problem Frank, it's sheeting it down here now but if we get a clear spell over the weekend I'll sort those out for you. smile

When I make a thread in "chimaera' section it automatically appears in its parent group of "TVR" which shows all threads of sub groups of "TVR"

ie this url
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forumgroup.asp?...

But at the time I posted it didnt show in TVR but did show in Chimaera. Its not one off as it happened yesterday too.

Ah OK understand where you are coming from now.

So are we in agreement that it appears in TVR list now?

It just appears to be a glitch when you first raise a thread, yes?

Not quite, when I posted originally it appeared in normally in both but twice when I looked to see if any replies had come in it wasnt on the TVR list but was on Chimaera. The only common part about the 2 instances was it was at around 6pm last night and again 6pm tonight when I was looking. To me appeared that any posts between 1745 and 1830 went awol. There were posts in that time gap that werent showing in "TVR"
