I'm mostly using the simple gillette blue2 (with the white strip) you can get in poundland for £1 for a pack of 5.
1 gets through 1 very long shave and that's about it. Doesn't gives a superb shave, but does the job much better than other cheap crap.
I had got in past a free blue 3 disposable one and that one blade lasted me like 3months and 20+ shaves before it got dull so that was pretty cool.
Was wondering if anyone has tested several kind and can aware me of what's the best stuff out there that's cheap to use ( long lasting) and cuts decently?

Aldi.

Try their 3-blade or new 4-blade razors and refills.
They last for ages and are every bit as good and a fraction of the cost of the premium brands.

Might as well get a cut-throat and a leather strop...

And you'll probably need a load of styptic pens. wink

Ah, the good old days.... cloud9

I used to sell Gillette products, their high end stuff, it was good but.....

I don't know what the blades are made out of with these Bic Flex 3's but this 4 pack is nearly 18 months old and there's still one razor left, I just can't blunt the damn things

Cheap as chips too

So this, the biggest problem with multi blades is irritation as they attempt continued cutting in one direction.

Equally your blade choice is infinite, i like feather blades sharp but short lived, or Astra blades which have a slightly less cut but last far longer.

I've used the 3blade pack from Shavekit for at least a year now, they send 4 fresh blades in the mail every month so change them weekly and never had less irritation

Cien 2 blade razor and 20 blades for less than a fiver. Results are almost as good as Gillette Mach 3, about the only real difference is a metal handle on the Gillete giving the thing a bit more gravitas. Blades last as long as Gillette and give 95% as close a shave, never had a cut and would buy again. They are only available from Lidl.

I got fed up of paying the high prices for gillette replacement blades, hence the move. I would like to use DE or a single blade razor but I learned to shave before multiblade razors were around and remember my throat looking like a butchers shop window so I am not going down that route again. I accept its pilot error but once bitten etc etc.

yeah I'm not going back to the ''super manly'' de/single razor shavers... fuk no..
They are a total Fad if you ask me, and these days you aren't a man if you don't use them - so the media wants you to believe.
I had used that stuff in past, but lol thanks but no thanks.

actually I stopped using mine after seeing this movie:

A cut throat I can understand but a DE razor is not much different from using a normal disposable, you just have to be a little more careful.

I think I've spent about £9 on Persona Platinum blades for mine in the last 2 years.

I'd never go back to the utter rip off 7 blade lubristrip turbo Mach 12 thins unless I needed one to carry on as hand luggage.

I think I might be nearly ready to buy some more blades, my 100 blades that cost me a tenner are nearly done, only taken me 2 years to use them
DE all the way for me.

A fad? The pattern was filed in 1901!

They are extremely cost efficient to buy and use, and it's easy. I've used them for 6 or 7 years and prior to that used straight razors.

yes A FAD lately, I know they pre-date the disposables by a very very very long time, I remember I used them 15-20years ago -only because at that time they were the only thing you could shave with at my back of the woods and no1 even knew what a disposable razor was at that time..

Nowadays you are the coolest guy if you use them not the disposables (which are so much faster/safer and you can just chuck away and take with you anywhere)

It's not like it takes ages to use a DE and imho the shave is far better especially if you have sensitive skin

Used DE razor for 20 yrs now and will never go back to multi blades.

Takes no effort whatsoever to create a lather or simply use gel in a can

Can even have a'wet' shave with just water.

Blades cost 10p and can easily last a week.

£5 per year or what £5 per week?

You're lucky your beard must be very soft. Mine's like wire. If I wanted to remove it completely I would have to trim it short with a hair shaver without a guard, then do the full hot steaming flannels all over my face for a few minutes, before lathering up etc.

Braun electric shavers work quite well for me, but they always miss the bits that lay flat on the neck, so I have to wet shave afterwards.
