Persol 2672-s

Some of the best lenses in the business. I prefer the slightly larger ones (2672 comes in various bridge/lense sizes) and also prefer the tortoise frames with brown lenses. Great UV protection though the lenses are so strong that they can interfere with sat-nav viewing (rainbow effect)

Cheers

I prefer the Serrengetti range of 'driver' lenses. These are bronze tint and developed for driving, they aren't so dark as to cause eye strain as I found with the Rayban lenses. Unfortunately my current pair failed the 'drop test' on to concrete!! I keep meaning to send them back for a new lense.

I'd recommend a visit to your local Sunglasses hut where you can try out various pairs of shades, then you can be a git and buy them online and save a few quid!!

arnettes are my shade of choice. twice the cool of oakleys, usually about 5o quid. plus this last pair appears to be almost indestructable. despite my ever growing buttocks and penchant for sitting on sunglasses.

the cheapest way of getting oakleys is through the states at the moment, go to a stockist, try on the various frames, make sure they suit you, especiall the x metal frames, penny is the smallest of them, so tends to suit women or men with small heads, choose our frames and the lens tint you like, it can make a big difference and it's a personal thing, so once you've decided, go to ebay, type in oakley and the style and look for available to the uk option. You are unlikely to get hit for import duty and even if you do import duty and shipping will be less the the price here.

look for a sleer with high feedback and who has sold oakleys before and shows the catual item in a photo, not just lifted off the oakley website, but just as a quick scan

this is how i've always got mine, if you need help, just email me

Another vote for Oakley. I have a pair of half jackets from the states. Well worth the money and all my Oakleys have been very rugged and tough, surviving a number of incidents!

i do have some oakleys finished in titanium which have been used when the sun (does) come out. Cost was £250. A problem I have is that when it really shines rays, they give me a headache. Is that just me. ?

Agreed. Except for the growing buttocks part.

Seconded. The increase in contrast you perceive with them on even a mildy bright but flat day is impressive.

Also to be seen adorning the face of one Wendelin Weideking, Porsche CEO.

Oakleys bullet proof. Even a numpty like me (sat on, dropped etc etc) can't damage them. After sales service is amazing.

Another vote for Oakleys, virtually standard issue for expats out here and with an 11 and 1/2 months summer we need decent sunnies.

Oaks every time.

I however think they're hideously overpriced, but they are good.

Actually, I am a sunglasses whore. My Arnettes do for skiing/driving, I have a pair of Oakleys for when I don't want to wear the Arnettes (and for riding into work inthe summer), and a pair of aviators for poncing around town in a metrosexual manner.

Oakley xx are indestructible (and I've tried).

Make sure that any sunglasses you get are polarised and polycarbonate (not glass or fragile plastic). I've seen somebody badly cut when he hit his head wearing cheap sunglasses, shattering a lens and slicing open his eyelid and cheek.

And another vote for Oakleys. A bit pricey but worth it IMHO.

I second the vote for Persol. The only frames I could find that were comfortable for an extended drive.

I must have a funny shaped head
