Job hunting - Redundancy looming

Morning all.
I will be made redundant at the end of July, due to the sale of the company I work for, I was heavily involved in the disposal, so have known this was coming for two years. I will get a very nice Golden handshake, equivalent to 1 years salary as a thank you for working through the sale.
I can't really leave until mid June, as I have to liaise with external auditors and complete the stat accounts.After that, I am free to go, but they will pay me up until end July if I require.
Already work load has reduced, and I am fairly bored, so started job hunting.
I am looking at Financial Controller upwards roles. Based in the North it is relatively slim pickings, however, an agency has got hold of me and sent me off for interview with a role based in a company that runs like the public sector (rather not discuss exactly what) I am used to private sector. This company is classed as a charity.
I feel I am being pushed down this road, I met with the top dogs, seemed pleasant enough. They like me, want me back for 2nd stage, but I have this niggling feeling it's not right. Money is right, their progression plan is right, but it's just the company. It is a little against what my wife does, imagine she was a veggie, and the job was in a slaughterhouse!
Am I jumping the gun to quick, this is the first interview, and it's all happening so fast, I feel I have not looked about enough, but then time is ticking, but then I will have enough cash to see me right for a while.
Am I just being a girl... I am an accountant, so risk averse. I haven't moved companies in 9 years!!!!! I feel the agency are very pushy as well. But then I think maybe that's just me!!
any advice.....

I always think an interview is a 2 way street. You really need them to convince you that putting 40/50/60 hours a week into what they're doing is a valuable use of your time.
Whether it is or it isnt is kind of up to you to decide. A company who wants to make you an offer would think you should, an agent who's sniffing a commission would think that's the best idea in the world, but really - it's up to you to ask some probing questions on the second/third round to really get into the bits you're unsure about. Probe around and come up with some questions based around what your gut is telling you.
They'll appreciate it, because if you say No to an offer, it'll be because you've done your homework, seen a problem that they could either rectify or brief other candidates on, and you dont end up 3 months in wondering why you're doing what you're doing.
Better to have a difficult conversation now than a really tough one later

I took v.redundancy in June but my employer kept me on untill the end of December and I started my new job on 9th January. I had the new job lined up since mid-October.
I got severance pay and have just bought a house and the majority of the rest will go towards my wedding.
If you have plans for the money get looking for job ideas now, if not enjoy a little break and worry about it later. When are you ever going to have a free years salary again?!
If it's worrying you that much I would maybe look in to contracting in the mean time.
Trust your judgement mate, there's only so much "advice" you can absorb and/or tolerate.
