After months of debating internally & externally I have come to the conclusion that my current role just isn't the one for me. As a car nut I want to stay within the automotive sector, even try for motor sport but I am slightly limited as to my location in the North East. Discussed with Mrs & if the right role became available location could be flexible but ideal would be to stay up North.

I have done a handful of roles in manufacturing and currently in Projects but a bit tired of chasing people rather than doing, really want to get hands dirty & get some actual car work under my belt, component engineer perhaps?

Aside from throwing my CV onto jobsite & looking on LinkedIn (and this is the punt) would anybody on there know of any opportunities or potential roles coming up around the area or suggest where best to look?

Much appreciated.

Have had a look there but previous experience working in a bigger company was slow & I was only responsible for a tiny little piece. Working in slightly smaller companies has meant I have been able to get involved in a lot more.

Coming to the conclusion that if I do want to go Motorsport route or other manufacturing I will end up having to leave the area again, not ideal.

Indeed, doesn't really help as that is even further than previous place & commuting up/down the country isn't how I want to spend my weekends.

You could ask them to move their factory closer to you. Would that help?
