Holiday let advertising

For those of you that have one where do you find the best places to advertise are?

For those that book holiday cottages where is your best place to go to find somewhere?

A former cottage, in a national park, obtained a very significant proportion of guests through a plastic box, with a hinged lid, full of business cards, attached to the gate post.

Airbnb was also used, with inflated prices to counter their high fees, with a suggestion that our holiday cottage website (basic Wordpress) had more photos and videos ... and upon visiting lower prices.

Repeat visitors are to be encouraged by any means possible, making sure their first stay is perfect helps! I also posted a Christmas card each year, with a photo of the cottage, to all the guests that had stayed as both goodwill and friendly advertising.

I used TripAdvisor successfully to let out a cabin, their fees were responsible too.

I also have just used them to book a villa for this summer in Kefalonia.
