Still got the brown cord carpets and beige door panels biggrin
Wheels have been repainted though, would originally have been all silver.

Hi

Yes that was up for sale in 2015, it's the 134 production Tasmin. As Ian said a non original colour to the wheels and the roof well how many have had that done, but the original carpets and door cards. In the engine compartment the original engine fan has been replace with a monster off a replacement.
In all a nice looking car in TVR Signal Blue.

arent those cars usually come with colour coded bumpers?
e.g. silver, to match the (original) silver wheels?

why the silver-sticker all along the car ends behind the front wheel arch? it always goes through, up to the front bumper.

according to the seller "Paint work could be better but it is totally original throughout."

but certain things indicate that the paint is NOT totally original.

the sunroof is another sacrilege at such an relatively unmolseted / original car.

the funky stewart warner isntrument also shpow "funky" thngs:

25psi oilpressure and ~125 degrees fahrenheit cooling temperature, even the engine / ignition is off.

no chassis pictures...which would be anotehr important thing.

5k for a car with unknown chassis-condition and a sunroof....i hope the bidder realizes soon that he will make a mistake in paying this price.

Hi

It should be coloured coded like the below. Also in TVR Signal Blue. Early cars may have also had silver sills.

I think the reason for not having the side decals and the nose TVR badge is obviously a painted nose job.

The Stewart Warner gauges retain their readings after the ignition has been turned off. They don't reset until the ignition is switched on again.
I think the bumpers and sills are normally black or silver and the stripes should match this.

I like it..Looks like a tidy Wedge..Who cares what colour the bumper should be???..How much would that cost to sort?...Worth 5K all day long....smile

i had one with SW gauges....the temp gauge remained its settings...the oilpressure not

anyway...those ar silly issues....most important things are:

no chassis pics
sunroof car (costs a fortune to "correct")

i would say 2500 to 3500 would be a reasoanbale price...provided that the chassis is spot on and suspension parts dito.

I agree with Zig. Worth 5k easy. What else could you buy for the money ? An average MGB or below average Capri. It looks a nice original car. Interior and under bonnet look very good. Check the chassis, buy it, paint the wheels silver, and you will have a very nice, very rare car. Maybee I am biased but there can't be many left as good as this.

the car stands and falls with the chassis:
5k is a very steep price for v6 powerded tasmin without any chassis pics nor a mentioned outtrigger repair

the colour scheme is definately not original. the seller was informed form several poeple about that, but he ingores the facts and insists on his opinion (this shoudl already ring the alarm bells)

the cheapish aftermarket sunroof destroys the car´s body-line, might also leak, spares arent available anymore. fibreglass work, paintwork, new roof lining will set you back 2-3k

~3k would be the max price...if the chassis needs a repairtongue outrice should drop to 1500,-pound

Sorry mate but that is below the scrap value...This is not the way forward to value these rare hand built British sports cars...They do not always need a body off resto and TBH WTF is original??..Triggers broom was original too..smile

I would rather have a Wedge that I can use than one that I'm scared to drive in case it gets scratched...In my personal opinion I'm not convinced that any of us over 40 years old will see these cars fetch big money...I hope I'm wrong but I'm just being realistic.

Yes the sunroof is shyte and unfortunately a lot of FHCs had this awful fitment..If it was a factory option then we wouldn't be discussing it now as a fault..In fact we would be discussing how valuable it would be with one....rolleyes

Early chassis were plastic coated so only an outrigger inspection is needed and to be fair its nothing to remove sills and sort...pennies in the great scheme of things...
And there is nothing wrong with the V6 Cologne???...At least thats original.......

Edited to say...If somebody has a restoration on a Wedge and brings it back to so called original condition then they have destroyed the original originality in doing so...It is no longer "Original"....FACT

I agree with the £5k figure if the chassis is good. These cars are so rare these days. Whether they are worth the money is down to the individual and rarity is something people are willing to pay for. Personally I love the shape. Sunroof however is a bummer.

It looks a nice old car this one, I don't think £5k is a big ask for it.
I paid £2.5 for my s1 barn find, that needs a load of work to even get it going!
Maybe I overpaid, then again no one else in my town has one, so that makes it all ok :-)

Looks pretty good to me and I don't really get the concerns about the chassis. In terms of bringing old cars back to life the chassis isn't a big concern, it's all mild steel and the sills come off this version of the Tasmin so are easy to repair. If you go to a 'restoration specialist' it'll cost a lot but any competent welder can put on new outriggers at a reasonable cost. Corrosion elsewhere may be a problem but that seems to be pretty rare.

I don't really get the obsession with what it's worth either. It's worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. The vendor can ask what he likes. I like sunroofs too... it can't be just me! Just so 80's.
