Well the day started off with the rear suspension bolt snapping on the way to work. Never mind I thought, at least the wedge got me there, I'll get it recovered back in the afternoon. As the rear wheel was now at a jaunty angle.

After an average pub lunch arranged a pickup at 4 to miss the traffic.

Things were going quite well, got to within about 2 miles from home then the flatbed truck started juddering, then the engine cut out all together. So the guy coasted to a halt pulling off onto the grass verge.

After checking for diesel we then had to wait for a second truck to turn up!

Then we towed the first truck round the corner and transferred the wedge off in mid air - driving off the back of one truck onto the other one - because no hydraulics on the first truck now.

All the time checking my watch because I had to be back by 630 to see my son in Panto at the Rugby Club.

Anyhow all's well that ends well, wedge tucked away in the garage ready for some serious spannering tomorrow and the panto went excellently.

Nightmare...This happened to me once with Delilah...A flatbed turned up, which had recently been MOT'ed..She was halfway on the road and half on the truck when the winch started smoking...Then it wouldn't start so another truck had tp come and get me and another for him...hehe

Yeah that's the irony I could probably have driven the last mile but there was no way to get it back off the broken truck!

I've had two of those unreliable TVRs over the last 22 years... the Tasmin once suffered a seized fuel pump (just after I refuelled rolleyes) and I had to use the wife's car to tow it two miles home... the 390 has never broken in such a way that I couldn't drive it home afterwards.
Never had breakdown cover biggrin
