This was posted to a FB group I am in asking for help identifying it, the guesses so far are an Allard or an Arkley (I am guessing because of the big A on the bonnet)

I'm not the genius I might appear - it had just this morning been posted on Autopuzzles as a "what is this car?" and had been a previous puzzle on that site. If you think you know a lot about cars, go on Autopuzzles and sit back in amazement. It's fascinating and time-absorbing.
