Hi,

My car Leon mk3 SC has started to have an intermittent problem with the rear wiper - it works OK but just chooses it's own resting position - it will correct itself after a while but is a little annoying...

Any thoughts what it might be?

It was 3 years old just before new year so just out of warranty..

I have no experience of VW group wipers however on Vauxhalls the parking mechanism was part of the wiper motor - so new motor required.
The only other thing I could think of would be the relay? Can the relay control where the wiper parks?

I've only ever seen them do that if the car has been turned off whilst the rear-wiper was in use. But usually correct itself as soon as you drive off again! Might be worth seeing if you could get it scanned with VCDS in case any fault codes are logged. Also SEAT may just sort it for you if the car has a full history and was bought from them.

I'll give the dealer a call in the morning, I did purchase the car from them (6months old) and have had it serviced and mot'd also so worth a go perhaps...
