Tuscan MK2 or T350? Deciding on which to buy.
Discussion
Hi all, Appreciate some advice on which one to go for, Tuscan MK2 (not S) or T350.
I have read loads of great advice on here for both. I love the Tuscan but it is pretty wiley, but does allow for storage which is handy harry. I love the Spectraflair Silver in either. The T350 on the other hand is I hear considerably more usable and the one below does also look the nuts. I think the Tuscan is more iconic though and investment wise, I think it would be a better purchase. I am looking to buy and hold in the UK (I live in Dubai and cant register RHD here). I will sit on it for 5 years and then take to Australia with me.
Here are the 2 cars, I am going to UK next month and seriously considering getting one of them. Appreciate thoughts/Suggestions/considerations for long term value:
The TVR TUSCAN: (From Str8Six)
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...
The T350 (From Track V Road)

I know Str8Six are decent and but dont know that much about Track V road other than they appear on many service documents for many cars I have looked at, so no doubt respected.
Thanks

Hi Luke,
I guess at the end of the day it will come down to personal choice,i have had my MK2 for 6 years now (spectreflair silver) and still get a huge buzz driving it and looking at it but i have never driven or owned a T350 but i am sure someone who does will be along soon.Slight differences are that the whole roof panel can come out rather than sections on the T350 but i prefer the T350 cockpit. Both cars you have pointed out look very sweet and you will have huge fun with either choice and the colour is bloody wonderful ! As always a complete service history and a well cared for car are what to look out for once your choice is made and then ENJOY !
Good luck
Bruce

For me the Tuscan wins, however on this particular car I would be curious about why it required so much work.
Also, if you're looking to buy 5 years early for investment reasons, my guess would be that a factory Tuscan "S" will be more desirable to investors, seems like you have time, is it worth holding out for one of those?
Good luck with your search!

Both look amazing!
My guess is the Tuscan is the better long term investment but guess is the key word there! More traditional sports car proportions. Personally I prefer the T350 interior.
I'd suggest you go and try both and see which you prefer after a sit in and drive, buy the one you like the most rather than betting on any investment.
If you would want to take the root off then clearly get the Tuscan or look for a T350c instead! But I'm guessing that if it's really hot in Aus then you'll keep the roof on and use the a/c instead so check that's nice and chilled!
Enjoy!

You have got a difficult choice to make, but a great many people would love to be in the same position. I tested both types of car before buying my T350C. Loved both, but just felt more at home in the T350. Funnily enough the T350 I tested was in spectraflair silver, a fantastic colour which I would have looked for had I not already fallen for a tustain racing purple T350 from Gorners in Wigan, but that is another story. As far as the cars you mention, the one at Track V Road is really nice and the whole team there are brilliant. I've been taking my car there now for many years and have always been happy with the service. If you search on here I'm sure you will find lots of comments to back up both dealers as both are very well respected. Good luck with your search.

Ok, so I've been out of the TVR scene for a while and I'm not trying to put a damper on things, but have u checked that u can import a TVR into OZ??
I remember something from years back in "Sprint" that was bemoaning the fact that TVRs made after a certain year could no.longer be ok imported to OZ.

Certainly a Sag, Tuscan and Chims in Oz judging by the photos on Facialbakke over the weekend.
Would still double check though.
Dubai? There are a few T cars out there. They attend the supercar meets. Might be worth popping along and checking out how they fair in the heat and humidity.
Laying up for 5-years is not going to appreciated by which ever model you choose.

I'd go for whichever you like the look of/drive of the most.
That said do you really think they're going to appreciate that much that by buying one now and storing it (therefore losing 5 years of service history and risking the associated issues with not driving them) for so long, why not just buy closer to your move time? Also, if taking one so far would you be better off finding one with a recent rebuild to help stave off any potential issues there?

The Spectraflair Tuscan was one of the Tuscan's I viewed at Str8Six and test drove this week.
Cosmetics
Paint work and wheels are spotless. Has had a recent full respray
Carpets and leather has had some retrimming. Bolsters and seat pads are good.
Some tiredness but nothing that would put me off.
Engine & Set-up etc.
Seemed to be solid and a really strong engine. I know 2 of the previous owners and it has been cared for with mechanical sympathy whilst cold and driven as it should. It's had a bespoke mapping in the past by Dom and John Ravenscroft - rumoured to be the S engine but with 4.0 injectors (I have no idea!). Certainly reported as being quicker than other Mk2 S
Has nitrons and stiff springs - it is currently set-up hard and makes the car less compliant than I would like but all adjustable to suit your preference. Definatey needs a full alignment but still drove very well, responsive, pulled well and hated 30mph just like my Cerb.
It was loud but not too loud.
Has had a recent clutch and a variety of the usual/expected stuff done to it - nothing that suprised me.
Colour
It really is stunning. It seems to pick-up the colours from around it. I mainly saw tones of blues through to purple, but mostly silver - does have the 'look at me' style but really does suit the car.
The interior matches the car and looks good in the flesh. The photos on the website doesnt do it any favours.
Both windows need a little TLC to make them run a bit smoother and there are a few minor rattles that wouldnt be hard to locate and rectify.
Wheels arent as dark black as the photos look - again they look good.
Nothing but praise for Str8Six - Jason & Chas are great. I've dealt with them previously and received good recommendations for them from friends too.
I very very nearly bought it - was in two minds and changed my mind twice. After 4 hours I said yes to one of the other Tuscans they had, but it was a really close call.
Good luck in your search - if you have the dosh, the black MK3 S at Str8Six is beautiful....
