Rejecting a car on PCP or walking away
Discussion
Hi All,
Having a really bad experience with a Renault Zoe. I bought it just over 9 months ago on PCP for my wife, great deal but it just keeps breaking down and leaving my wife stranded!
It broke after 2 1/2 weeks and ended up being away for over 2 weeks to get a new battery. It has broken down on 3 more occasions, the latest showing motor failure. There are so few EV trained dealers (including the one that sold me the car!) that the car ends up being carted off to the nearest dealer that has trained people to look at it, this time is is over 50 miles away... We are being told it is going to be another 12 working days to get a part to do with the charging cable lock before they can investigate any further faults so feeling very open ended..
I bought it on a 2 year PCP, £99 deposit and then £100/month for the car + £85/month battery rental.
Have we had it too long to reject? Fundamentally it is just not fit for purpose as a daily vehicle as it keeps breaking down and tbh I'd just like to walk away..
Has anybody got any advice?
Cheers,
Rich

It has been two different error messages for the breakdowns, two for each.
Haven't really had any contact with the selling dealer over informing them of the first issue as they don't have any ability to repair the car! Have been dealing with subcontracted recovery services (AXA), emergency car (Enterprise) and phoning around EV trained service centres.
