Any opticians? 2 different prescriptions - same eyes!

Had an NHS eye test in Dec and also used it to get a pair of Varifocals online. That didn't work out at all & returned them.
So as my computer screen still seemed smaller (but hadn't changed size!) so went down the high street 4 weeks later and got eyes tested - they said it was the same prescription as 3 years ago. So decided against new glasses as was same prescription and high cost... My computer text still seems smaller though!
Anyway - why such seemingly large differences between the two prescriptions? The R axis is 145 in one prescription but 20 in the other? They both agree on the near mag though at least.
