Hi all, I'm sure this topic has been done to death, but how much can I expect to pay to have the above work done ? I have been quoted £499 Inc VAT. Is that a good / fair price ? Thanks in advance.

Sound about right, parts probably total around £250 at a guess.

I had a Skoda (1.8T) done a while back (engine is transverse so accessibility is a bh) and I paid £300 or so.

~£500 sounds a bit over priced to me OP.

But without knowing where in the country you are, it's difficult to say.

EDIT: corrected spelling!

Like Tony, another Skoda owner, but £500 seems like a top whack main dealer price to me. I'd try a google on Unit 18 in Old Wolverton and get a quote from them .Generic 65 miles from you, but I'd reckon they'd get that price way down. And both blokes are VAG trained.

It's only £599 at Audi under their fixed priced service for older cars.

I'd be looking to get a price in the region of £350 - £400.
