Driving to work this morning I decided to take the back route and bypass the queues on the M3/M27. This route involves heading along the A36 near romsey/wellow.

As I approached Wellow, the limit changes from NSL to 40MPH. Apart from the usual signposts, the tarmac was a different colour, with white triangles on it to further emphasis the change. There is also a speed camera sign

A litte further on, there is one of those signs that lights up to indicate the speed limit, if a vehicle is exceeding it, to further remind a driver that they are speeding.

Then a little further on there is a Truvello.

It is placed near a junction on the right which is just before the road dips in both direction.

Why aren't all speed camera sites set up in this way???

If the SCPs really cared about safety all camera sites would be set up like this - with ample warnings before administering the punishment for "inappropriate use of speed," instaed of speed change, followed by a well hidden camera.......

Won't be long before that Truvelo fails to hit its revenue targets, and gets moved to somewhere else then...

That wellow section of the A36 has been closed for months to do all that work, the real problem is that there would be no need for it if they built a decent trunk road from Bath to The M27 bypassing all the villages and Sailsbury, but that will never happen will it, so we will continue to push heavy traffic down relativly narrow roads and get surprised when there are accidents.
