I quite like it, I think it looks better in real life than it looks in the picture

Hard call. The thing that would put me off is that if you chuck another £2-3k in you'll get into a new 7, albeit a 730d. The 760 could cost you that in the first year!

Do it.

I got a 4 year old 20k miles 760Li F02 (facelift) last summer and love it. Had a previous gen E65 730d before and it was great, but just not the same car. It's like comparing a Lambo to a Seat.

I do low mileage, but acutally get 22 mpg all day every day apart from cold engine short drives (which are more like 8-12). In my old 730d I only got 32-38 on longer journies so not as big a difference as I thought.

For reference I paid £31k from BMW park lane - their prices on 760s are lower than anyones (I watched a few turn through before and after mine), I think they just want rid of them. Yet they supply it very nicely - when I picked it up there were all round new mats, number plates and key rings! I know these are small things, but you wouldnt get them elsewhere. I still reckon I could flip mine for 35k!

If the short journey's are 3 miles or less, in stop/start traffic, 8~12 mpg isn't that much of a surprise really.

I have done the same short commute in two other cars:
- 2005 E65 730d - despite being a deisel this only got 16mpg
- 2009 Toyota iQ 1l manual which gets 37-42 mpg!
