997 GT3 ...anyone know this car

i've had a 996.2 GT3 previously and am now tempted by a 997
this has caught my eye. I've never heard of the dealers though. to be fair the advert reads well and the car looks excellent to my eyes
is a replacement RMS normal on a Mezger engine?? thought they were bulletprrof but I may be confusing IMS and RMS
any other thoughts welcome. no reg number on the advert but I will see what I can find out
would you buy a paint thickness meter and go round the car, or not bother??

That car has been up for sale a few times now. Always substantially cheaper that everything else available. It could be that the non standard wing is putting off potential buyers. Obviously, there could be another story but if it is only the wing, its a very good buy. If I were in the market for one, I'd be having this car checked over by a specialist, pronto.
Wheel colour (and obviously the mirrors) non OEM too. So, probably simply an owner wanting to leave his own mark on the car, but there are enough flags to get it thoroughly inspected, including paint.
I made the mistake of getting the paint checked on mine AFTER buying (that's what excitement does to you!). Turnedout it had paint all over, and in the end i resprayed virtually the whole car at significant expense thanks to my detailer guy constantly tutting.

For that price it will likely be a Manthey RS style spoiler. I think £3,000 is what JZ Machtech were quoting for supply and fitting of these a couple of years ago. I think an OEM one is closer to £8/9,000.Car has a £3k invoice from Porsche Exeter for that wing

I bought my 996 from these guys (well it's just one guy, "David" I think). Nice guy, nice enough outfit. The 996 was at the bottom end of their stock.
At the time they were on an industrial unit among some significantly non prestige outfits in Sussex. He was talking about moving though so they may have nicer surroundings now.
Pre sales prep was thorough if ultimately a little disappointing (isn't it always?).
For example I tried to buy the car as was, needing a bumper repaint due to the previous effort being a poor colour match. He insisted on getting it done himself, but I don't think whoever they used took the bumper off to do it despite assurances to the contrary...
Turned out one rear tyre was newer than the other. They were the same premium brand but when I had my specialist look the car over he discovered cracking on the inside tyre wall and a puncture repair on the older tyre.
Finally the alternator was not charging the battery properly although I drove the 140 miles home ok.
Over the telephone he said they all do that. Well, they don't, but rather than argue and faff with the warranty I fixed it myself with a new regulator for £30.
Having said all that (which frankly is a reflection of my high expectations and somebody who is making an honest living selling good cars (imho) but with only a little more than the usual attention to detail, I did receive a brand new key through the post sometime later which had been ordered because he'd temporarily misplaced one of the originals.
Overall I'd say if the car checks out, you'll be fine with the outfit, but unlike perhaps the top end Porsche specialists, you'd be well advised to fully inspect the car because you might spot things they didn't.

Spoke to chris at premier gt about this GT3 last week..... they were keen to deal and offered me £30k for my 08 Carrera s which is fair for a trade price ...they were also happy to put the car through a porsche 111 check and have a porsche warranty applied .........negotiations stopped when I realised this was a 8 owner car.......would mean when/if selling the car it would be to the 10th owner

Buy on condition, not the number of owners. Someone else will still want to buy it in future if it's a good car. Shame stunning car
Why not make them a reasonable offer based on the number of owners and leave it with them. They may comeback to you if it hangs around.
