Afternoon,

In need of some help please! smile

I'm looking at buying a second hand car to commute ( hoping I am offered the job ). I will be driving around 800 miles a month and the journey is mainly country roads apart from 10 minutes on a dual carriage way, the journey will take around an hour one way.

Because of this I am really keen on something that will do good MPG and can hopefully be relied upon however I understand with second hand cars this is always a gamble.

I've been looking at Mazda 2's (Diesel), Toyota Yaris both petrol and diesel.

I'm looking to spend between £1000 and £2000 I would be grateful of a few suggestions as to what to go for and what not to go for!

Many thanks for your help!!!

800 miles per week!?
you're going to doing endless maintenance to a shed with that mileage.
How are you at twirling the spanners ?

I'd find a decent petrol hatch if you're only doing 10k per year.

I'd say something along the lines of a Clio would be a good fit.
