Hope this is the right place for this post if not move it please.

I have been having a couple problems with my TV in the year I have owned it, none of which have gone away.

The first problem I would like to fix is the fact that the TV is almost always disconnected from the internet. I always get a messages telling me to try to connect to the internet and the apps will not load up. I used to have to switch my router on and off for it to connect, but now I have given the TV a static IP It will connect every time but I still need to open the connection menu. This leads to problems opening apps, casting YouTube ect... One fix I have found is going through the menus and pressing "TV Self Test" often enables me to connect to the internet.

My TV is a Panasonic TX50DX700B I believe. Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like buggy firmware, first thing would be check which version of firmware youre running and see if its the latest version.

Is the TV connecting via WiFi or ethernet?

I have the DX750 and over WiFi it wasn't great but now I've gone down the HomePlug route it works great. (TV is at the back of the house, router is at the front)

Its connected over WiFi. My router is upstairs and I'm already running at 25 ft Ethernet cable to my computer... Any suggestions?

Get some of these:

Plug your router into 1, then plug the rest in near the devices you want connected (PC/TV) and your house becomes a hard wired network. WiFi is all fine and dandy for mobile phones and tablets but transferring large amounts of data over it (i.e. streaming video) isn't its forte.

I have the same TV bought purely because at 550 from Amazon I couldn't find anything as good, it's been faultless 4 months into ownership and is connected wirelessly and running whatever the latest firmware was when it came out of the box and was turned on for the first time.

I wonder if you've got a hardware fault or some basic incompatibility with your router?

edit to add: next time I turn it on I'll take a look what version firmware it's running and post it here.

Doesn't help you much but my TX-40DX700B has been rock-solid over wifi with a BT HH5, 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Have you tried both frequencies?

My router is only 2.4 GHz as its the one that comes with my internet subscription.

My TV software version is showing as 3252-10000-001d11060016

which is 3.252 on the system update menu.

Seems this is the latest version.

I've been streaming 4K content via amazon no problems over the wifi connection.

I really do wonder if it's a compatibility issue with your router. My router is from a Dutch ISP but is a technicolor media access TG789bvn.

I'm only on 2.4ghz as well.

Internet connectivity on our Panasonic is rubbish over WiFi, but is absolutely fine using Ethernet. Before doing anything else, take the TV upstairs and plug it into the router using a cable just to rule it out.

Homeplugs are okay, but are really a last resort as they basically turn your wiring into a huge RF antenna and can start affecting other equipment. We have two for a PC in a room very distant from the router and have to turn them off when wanting to listen to the proper hifi. Much better to use CAT6.

Interesting as my 40CX680 has just started doing this but it's wired in to the router. Quick network test and it goes though.

My 55DX700 is connected via wi-fi and I get no issues from that.

We've got a 2 year old Panasonic Tv and it was never very good on wifi. I used an Ethernet cable to the router in our last house then bought Netgear power line type widgets when we moved and hardwiring wasn't so easy. I must have tried wifi again after moving before deciding to spend money.
