I made an enquiry about a car earlier with the above company http://www.v12sportsandclassics.co.uk/
I was contacted almost immeadeatly asking for a deposit on the car to hold it for when I'm ready to view.
I made my excuses and told him he would be contacted again when i'm ready to view car if still available.
Looking around there seems to be a number of positive reviews and the spec and price of the car is just what i'm looking for.
Anyone had dealings with them and made such a deposit and managed to get deposit back if car was not to their liking?
Cheers.

I attempted to buy a car from V12 the other day, a Skoda Kodiaq Laurin & Klement, didnt want to spend anymore than 25k and wanted it to be the 2.0TSI not 2.0TDI or 1.5TSI which left me with 2 for sale. The V12 one is at Hinckley which is about 45 mins to an hour away down the A5.
I sent an enquiry via their contact form on the website and the only thing I got back was what looked like an automated email basically saying I can reserve the car for £99, it didnt answer any of my questions, the next day same email, the day after same email, I noticed the email was signed off with a girls name "Zoe" so I replied to the email and got a reply straight away from Zoe saying she would forward my questions onto the branch and she then replied with answers about service history etc. I wanted to view it Monday afternoon so I decided to just call their number and arranged a 1630 viewing, they then called back and advised 1700 would be better (it was 1530 at the time) so I agreed.
We loaded up our current car with the kids (one of which is 7 weeks old) and off we went, unfortunately our current car decided to pop a boost hose 15 minutes from V12 at Hinckley so we had to get the RAC out as I didnt have any tools with me. So I called V12 and re-arranged for Tuesday at 1200.
On Tuesday I set off with plenty of time to spare, arrived 15 minutes early only to find out there is no parking at all at their Hinckley showroom, its all on street parking in a industrial estate, had to park quite far away and walk back to the showroom, receptionist had me on the system which was good, told to go and sit in the waiting room which was quite full with people. 25 minutes later a young girl comes to ask if I have come to look at a Skoda which I had, off we go into a office, she logs in and takes details, takes my keys and says the manager will go look at our car while she gets the Skoda ready. 2 minutes later she returns with trade plates but informs me the Skoda isn't here, its away at a "prep site" awaiting parts and I needed to come back on Wednesday to view it, "they would cover my costs if i bought it".
I called them Wednesday morning to say I'm not interested and wanted my £99 back which they are apparently doing.
Why book a viewing if the car isn't there, the car also wasn't there on Monday so that would have been a wasted journey with the whole family.
In fairness all the cars on display seemed in good condition, they had a gang of lads at the back of the warehouse in a seperate section cleaning and machine polishing cars. There was a Welsh chap buying a car off them, you could tell he was a car dealer himself, hed gone into the "no entry" section and was trying to tell the machine polishing guy he was doing it wrong.

Bought my G31 from them in Essex. Traded in my F11 which was on 200K miles. Didn't pay any deposit to hold and just made appt and visited with a view to buy. Car looked superficially good but they had just cleaned it which exposed signs of light damage and broken rear light. Car drove OK but sluggish for a 525 but still quicker than my 520. Negociated hard , which was more on them giving me more on my 520 and they agreed to replace the light with new. Car had full AA approved check. I drove the car for several months before taking it to my BMW specialist for a service and MOT , passed. Some months later a check engine light came up so took it back to my garage. They diagnosed an O2 sensor and low back pressure on the DPF which they couldn't get sorted but cleared and said if it didn't stay clear it would be new DPF. It came back quick and I investigated further. Massive hole in the Turbo intake hose. Not spotted by AA , not spotted by my Specialist! Pipe replaced , DPF still reading low but reset, performance now better than expected. It still throws low back pressure DPF so maybe burnt out? Anyone know a fix? Passes MOT fine, no particle issues and Bimmer Code resets for MOT.
Re V12. Typical buyer of BCA cars , not impressed with AA assessment. check with great care you are buying cheap, I'm sure most cars are fine but its a car supermarket where the only improvement is a warranty.
Just to compare, a friend bought a 2011 BMW 6 series convertible. Its been back with the dealer (not BMW) for a month. Gearbox issues. They hadn't replaced the brakes properly and the wear sensor was not connected. They've spent £4500 trying to fix the car so far!
