There have been a few topics on this, but few with definite figures.

My 28,000 mile '14 plate M5 is coming up to 3 years old and below is the quote I've received from BMW:

Which option do people usually opt for, and are there better value alternatives?

I have just bought a 2 year old M5 and looked into this beforehand.

As I see it, the warranty is for big scary problems, like the turbo's imploding. On that basis, I will be going with comprehensive cover and a £250 excess. Since | already have AA cover, that means it will be £750

I've gone for comprehensive with a £250 excess. I don't expect the F10 to self destruct, but if I do get a problem it'll be covered.

I've just gone for comprehensive - I don't see the point of the lesser warranty as I don't want to worry if the warranty will actually cover the particular fault .

It's all very well having breakdown cover elsewhere but doesn't Emergency Service give you a courtesy car too?

A friend of mine had a blow-out on his M5 in France, called Emergency Service and they gave him another car to use (a Megane, ha!) while his puncture was being fixed at a BMW dealer.

I agree with the earlier post. I have a 2012 M5 - I took the view that the wwarranty is for big problems so i have the comprehensive one with £250 excess. So far the only issue i have claimeed on is for the condensers - £1k cost - supplied and fitted by the dealer for £250.
