Looking for some advice or even what this process would be called.

Currently i print phone cases which are printed to order. Usually have a a4 document in photoshop and drag files in from a folder fitting approx 6 to a sheet. I am looking for a way to automate this. I can get a picking list from the magento site i use which has part numbers and quantity in CSV format, the part numbers are the file names of the images.

Every time i search for data driven photoshop it refers to filling in text in an image from a CSV file.

Does anyone know what i am trying to achieve is called? or a way to do it, Even if it involves a different program.

I'd be surprised if there is an off-the-shelf piece of software that does this since it is quite a specific bit of functionality. On top of that PSD is a proprietary file format, so it's difficult to create PSD files without the automation going through Photoshop. However, Magento -> PDF is entirely possible (I've done it for another client of mine), so feel free to PM me if that's something you'd be interested in.

When I do the same type of thing through indesign you need to use an '@ characters in the top filed.

IE

Name '@image Code

yyy Bluecar.tif def
