Well, it isn't the i/o Sky link itself it seems, but the lounge TV has been replaced with a new all singing/dancing one so the old 47" LG is to go in the bedroom. So, I took down the old 40" Samsung and put up the LG. It wouldn't work, indicating no signal. So, I put up alongside it the old Samsung and lo and behold we have no problem. I tried plugging the aerial lead in direct to the Samsung and via the Global Link to change channels and everything works, but with the LG still nothing works. Is the i/o port analogue or digital, or perhaps just not HD, or what on earth is the problem? The LG worked fine connected to Sky+ but will not accept that there is a signal from the i/o port. Puzzling. Any advice people?

I think the IO link is analogue.

Does the new TV have analogue (as well as digital) tuning ?

Thanks for replying. We went further I should explain. I tried plugging the very old TV into the i/o link and all fine. the newer TV wouldn't work, so what we did was to end up with all three tvs' in the lounge (complicated ain't it!) and the brand new one works on the aerial because it has an inbuilt tuner. But the other two don't. but if that is the case why will one work in the bedroom on the anologue i/o port and the other not? Could it be that a signal booster might make the difference? If so, exit the i/o port, then a booster, then cabled to the bedroom. I am confuzzed.

I/O link is analogue, you need to do an analogue scan or manually tune it in. If it's a new LG with the 'smart' menu, then the menu is not so smart and a slow pita to navigate. Sky boxes are set on C68, unless it's been changed.

I suspect you where watching Sky via HDMI before? Or Scart?
