Has this happened to anyone else and should I be worried or not ?

Started the TVR (4.0 hc) up after leaving it for a few weeks and heard the engine almost weazing into life..

Looked behind me and all I could see was a blue oil cloud.. this lasted for about 5 ~ 10 secs and then was gone. With that the engine also sounded correct again with its normal burble ..

The car has only done 43K and before I put it away I filled it up with oil to the mark.

Is this the sign of TVR grim reaper coming for my engine or just oil accumilating after the top up ?

Possibly you valve seals are a bit past their best. I wouldn't worry unless it happens again or you get lots of smoke on overrun.

If you filled the oil up to the mark soon after the engine was switched off, you probably overfilled it as some oil would be up round the engine (to put it technically!). Best to fill up the oil with engine cold I think.
