Another one, apologies

Not wanting something too old or something that will depreciate loads. If I can get something that appreciates/may appreciate or holds its price that may sway me
Not wanting something too big/long.
Has to be a 4/5 door and fairly spacious as I'll probably be driving my parents' places.
Wanting something fun to drive which can also be comfortable when I'm driving around town or don't want to boot it
A good exhaust note

I think I've narrowed it down to a facelift 335i and an R32 mk5. Are there any others that I should consider?

I've been recommended the following which I don't think I'd want but try and convince me otherwise

130i - too small at the back I think
Focus ST - not too keen on the looks of the older STs
Impreza STI - not sure about this as I'd probably get pulled over loads seen as I'm Asian
RX8 - not practical enough
Mercedes - arent the BMWs more fun?

Don't want a lease

You'd get pulled over in the impreza regardless of what race you are, it's got Jack all to do with it.

The 130 is a very nice every day driver and would be my choice.

Here are some alternative options:

2009 Titanium X Sport Mondeo 220bhp (you'll need to change the exhaust to get a good note from the engine)

Audi A4 3.2 (same engine as the R32) 260bhp

VXR Insigna 321bhp

Maybe an earlier 135i coupe instead of the hatch. Same engine as 335i but less weight, similar rear legroom and more fun to drive.

Only issue is they would be hard to find in budget and decide between space & driving enjoyment.

BMW Alpine B10 3.2 or 3.3

For: Lovely engine, handling, comfort. Great exhaust, 25 mpg.

Against: oil consumption, possible rust, expensive parts

Note: going up in value, rare.

Audi S4 (B7). Spacious and practical with a stonking V8.
