Someone mentioned it on another thread, and I remembered thinking on the day that wouldn't it be great if there was some sort of board where everyone gathered, showing each cars best run.

Any others ?

I mentioned this to Greg on the day... not sure on the feasibility...

I'd include stickers in the price for numberplates (saves photo editing )...

Other than that, can't think of anything... top event, and very well organised IMHO.

30 runners, yet how many cars on the start/finish straight prior to the sighting lap? I lost count.

largely because a few people joined the procession who werent running! There were more than 30 runners though.

Could the timing beam people use longer wires to the traps and sit themselves further down the runway, past the timing beams. That way they could be spotting the cars after they braked and would have far better chance of minimising any errors in vehicle recognition.

Other than that this VMax was definitely the best so far.

I thought that the people on the security gate had the reg. numbers of the partcipating cars, and all others were going to be turned away ?

Did people who hadn't payed get to run thier cars ? Surely not.

The security men at the gate were provided with a list of approved numberplates. Included in this list were a few non-running vehicles authorised by craig (ie Greg, photographers, Ruf backup vehicle etc). These non-paying attendees did not get to run their cars.

as a general pointer.

Apparently a couple of car loads of people who had driven a VERY long way turned up & were turned away during the day. Sorry Chaps, I had said no spectators.

That's fair enough Craig, the rule about "no spectators" could not have been made any clearer. Unfortunate, but rules is rules.

I am working on this actually

Straw poll, how often would you realistically like to have vmax guys ? We currently run on 3 maybe 4 times a year. Is that enough ?

Are you aware that if that is the case the neccesity for upgrades will come around twice as fast?

I think about four times a year is good. Anymore and you start to lose the anticpation that seems as much a part of it as the event.

Keep it 'special'

I'm afraid I wouldn't attend every two months due to the cost of brake disks/pads etc. However as already mentioned it may make sense to try and do one or two more slots and thus allow more people the chance of driving on a VMAX day.

Only a couple of suggestions from me....

Is it possible to have some sort of board in the pit area linked to the speed readings on the runway (I think this was mentioned above) and also perhaps longer leads from the trap beams to the read out.

Other than that...bloody fantastic organisation, I thought. I know what it's like to organise things like that and as such, appreciate and recognise the efforts made!

Oh...port-a-loos, for the guys it was ok, for the girls...well....

Really though, fantastically well done

There were portaloos for both boys and girls in the 'pits' area (take a left turn almost at the end of the return straight).

Perhaps next time we just need to let everyone else know about them......

Oh, and according to Rude Girl the handwash in the ladies was "PH Balanced".
