Congestion Charge for bike???

Ken of London is thinking about introducing Congestion Charge to bikes. So that will be £8 (from june/july) to get into london on a bike because he "wants to reduce the amount of accidents that involve bikes".
If this goes ahead, which i hope it won't, it will net him an extra £750,000 a week as most people left thier cars at home and bought a bike.

So what he is really saying is that he wants to tax and control you, me, and the rest, because it is in our best interest and he is in a position to know what that is. But unlike most whores, he wants the responsibility to go with the power.
Just a small insight into 'labour's real objective. If you think about Labour's origins, it was born out of a desire to define a 'working class', the only caveat being that it had to be 'their' working class. Nothing's changed, it's just got worse...

The Congestion Charge and the unfair fines have become Ken's favourite tax.
Last time I forgot (I remembered at 20 past midnight
), I emailed a complaint, asking to see their budget in order to ascertain whether they factor a certain level of ifnes into the annual budget, but was told that they coudln't show me the budget for "data protection act" reasons. I pointed out that the data protection act is for the protection of individuals, not administrative bodies and that we now have a freedom of information act. The next email said that the matter was being passed higher up the chain. That was six weeks ago and I have heard nothing further.

Even if they still go ahead with it, i will still ride a bike as its quicker than sitting in traffic.

Thought the Congestion charge was to try and relieve congestion by encouraging a more efficient use of transport 
But please tell me someone, how will charging Bikers stop them having accidents? .....will paying a fiver (or whatever) make them think, "you know I really don't want to crash now that I've paid a fiver"
