What was the first car which didn't use round headlamps?

I was looking at a book last night which contained a load of cars from the 1920s right up to present day, and everything before about 1965 had round headlights, the first one in the book without was a stack light Merc, so it made me wonder, what was the first car in the world not to use round (or square) headlamps, ie. the first to use a combination headlamp unit.

Ok, not quite what I meant, I get that they're not exactly round but the second one isn't much different, the first seems to be a possibility but I'm more intrigued as to what car kicked off the modern era of combined headlight units.

Do you mean this sort of thing? Peugeot 504 first introduced 1968.Or do you mean headlamps with side,indicator etc all in.

Citroen Ami 6, 1961. The first to use non-round reflectors. The reflectors behind those '30s square lenses would have been round.

The Merc W111 seems to be the earliest that I can find, 1959 onwards and Mercedes seem to have adopted a similar design from then onwards, that's what I mean really.

It may well be Merc who were first, they're pretty good at that sort of thing!

I suppose it depends on what you class as fairly recently. It wasn't really.
