Is this Malcolm Hamilton's E type ? if so, I raced against that in the intermarque series back in the late 80's it was not that "modified" back then, but still dam quick, never really saw it in the dry, could just about hang on in the wet though!

What is almost twr group c spec engine and running gear?

One and the same, it was quite badly damaged some years ago and eventually sold by Rob Beere. If it's the same owner now he's done a good job of rebuilding it, I seem to remember him offering it for sale a few years ago but it was too expensive (for me) back then, still not sure it's worth the estimated price now but then anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Er, I'm not sure if you were joking or not or making a point about the punctuation?

If no the answer is that TWR ran the Jaguar Group C sports racing cars back in the late '80s and early '90s. Some of those were powered by a derivative of the Jaguar V12. So the ad is suggesting that the spec for the E type's engine is similar to that of the TWR cars.

I also remember this at Donnington and whilst certainly the fastest E type there that day it may not have ended up as the most memorable.

I remember back when Gerry Marshall was racing the ground effect Aston that he used to chuckle that if Malcolm had found the cash to put that car on the grid he didn't stand a chance of adding to his winning tally unless it was wet. It was a absolute monster of a car!
