My nearside wing mirror makes a noise but doesn't come out. It goes in ok but I have to pull it out and it clicks into place.

Any tips to try and make it work again?

Thanks.

There are two bolts at the end of the mirror arm. One you can see when the mirror is folded out normally, one you need to manually fold the mirror out beyond its normal point to see. Take those out and remove the mirror from the arm (it's still attached by wiring).

Turn it upside down and you'll see three screws at the pivot point. Take those out and it allows you to remove the surround. Squirt some spray grease all around the pivot area.

It solved mine for a year, and appears to have cured it again this time although I expect to need a new mirror at some point.

did my passenger mirror at the weekend and its straight forward enough, needs small torex driver.
I covered the door with a sheet just in case it slipped out of my hands.
All working fine now :-)
Totally agree the forums are a fab place to get information

Finally got around to giving this a try on my 2011 Rapide.

The two torx screws (T20) holding the mirror to the arm were exactly as described...but once i flipped the mirror upside down I was unable to locate any (3) screws at the pivot point.

Perhaps there's another technique for different models or years?

I'm not sure which model/year the original prescription in this thread applied to, however it's worth noting that there are 3 holes in the aluminum pivot mount that seem to have been originally designed (perhaps) for screws. The pivot mechanism on my Rapide seems to have a compression fitting instead of a screw mounting mechanism although i'm hesitant to start muscling it for fear of making it worse...until i get guidance.

Can anyone provide an update on removal and lubrication of the sideview mirror for this particular model? The grinding sound sure does not sound proper on my Rapide so i'm thinking i should take care of this sooner than later.

Much appreciated in advance.

Sorry to resurrect this old chestnut, but I am having issues with sticky powerfold mirrors on my 2014 DB9. I had hoped that davek_964's advice above would help, but like the pynhead's Rapide, my mechanism is different from earlier models of Vantage and DB9. I got as far as removing the mirror assembly - with mirror folded in remove the visible torx screw in the end of the arm; then with mirror folded forward beyond its normal travel, remove the 2nd torx screw. Once removed and turned upside down, all that was visible was an aluminium hub with 3 blind holes in it and 3 short arms protruding from its circumference. It looks as if a tool inserted into the 3 holes might allow me to twist the hub to make the arms align with the corresponding gaps in the plastic housing, but it is tightly fitted and I don't want to force anything. Luckily there are gaps next to the 3 protruding hub arm and my trusty WD40 can with its fitted spray pipe allowed me to get some WD40 into the housing. Then with some manual assistance, I cycled the mirror several times and it now folds under its own power, but still squeaks.
I am loathe to spray too much lube blindly into the mechanism for fear of damaging any electrical wiring etc., so I would love to get some more definitive guidance. Looking at the exploded parts drawing for the mirror, it appears that the mirror cap should be removeable to expose the works. Has anyone tried to take the cap off? How?
I have looked on the AMOC forum, but there are no previous posts on this subject, although I will copy this across there to see if anyone can help.

The mirror caps do come off but it is very easy to break the fittings on them, that's based on my experience on the later Vantage mirrors (2009 onwards)
The guide I followed was to use a trim panel tool and start at the pointy end of the housing and gently work your way around.
