I really like this bike! My last one was an XB9R and it was awesome. It sounded great, handled fantastically and looked completely unique so why are so many people against them?

OK. They're not super quick (but who needs to do 190 odd mph!?). They're not the most reliable but they're not that bad. And they're not cheap to maintain.

Other than that, they're a superb bike so i always ponder on why people really dislike them!?

Ideas anyone and let me know if you like them or not!

Don't know!!! I quite like the look of them, they're different and they sound pretty darn good.
What I've heard is people complaining about the reliability and that the harley engine is rubbish.
I agree with you though, a bike like that doesn't need to be super fast as chances are it will be mainly used round town and the odd b-road blat.

My instructor had one when I was learning, he used to the flick the kill switch now and again when he was going past queues of traffic , the first time nearly made me fall off my bike cause I wasn't expecting it.

About as bullet proof as your going to get! The engine pretty much never goes wrong and it's been proven for over 80 years!

not exactly what one is looking for in a b road blaster though is it...if I wanted to ride something pre-war I'd get a Vincent....

Anyways what do the 'mericans know about b roads

and you seem to be contradicting yourself as you've already said

Bits fall off them! (But the engine never goes wrong!)

Seriously though, take one out for a spin. They handle beautifully! Even better with a set of Corsas!

I'm sure they do, but I will vehemently avoid anything with a Harley engine in it as I hate the image that the whole harley thing portrays, it's just reinforcing the bad stereotype as displayed in the film The Wild One....(even though they rode trumpets)

Unlike Harleys, Life evolves and so have I (and my bike

PS I do understand that the Buell line is an evolution and is much much more modern than Harleys proper, but it's a principle thing ;-p

Besides I already ride the best bike in the world.....

hehe!

Unless it's an MV Augusta F4 1000 Tamburini, I'd have to disagree!!!

But yeah I know what you mean about the whole Harley image. I didn't exactly fit in with when I turned up to one of their open days (I was curious). Although the people there were very nice and I got a great big free pork, stuffing and apple sauce bagette!

I just love the bike because it's so different and the sound it makes is just out of this world. (Plus it sets off car alarms down narrow streets! They hated me when I studied in Pompey! )

I've been riding round that town for 20+years with a loud pipe (I was born there, parents still live there) so don't feel too bad about it, loud pipes saves lives....
