I just tried this. It took a while to load, but it's expected, and to be honest, it's not a big deal. The application was quite easy to use. Initially, I was confused as I didn't know how to edit the 'Zion 320TDI', but after reading your notes, I managed to figure it out. I recommend that you introduce a feature that shows you from the offset how to edit the vehicle/model. You have implemented this, but only after you press Edit/Share. Other than that, I just had a light play around on the site. It's really quite good!

Works pretty well, once you click about for a while you can work most things out.

One thing is that the menu buttons etc seem to be of quite low quality? Are you able to make these of a higher resolution? Would make the UI look a whole lot better IMHO!

Looks like a pretty standard dealer configuration program to me. It works. Currently the UI looks a bit clunky but I am sure that you can easily improve that.

Also, maybe reduce the reflections on the body work? Makes the car look a little mucky/dark when the panel is in the shadow of the 'sun'. More obvious on the rear and drivers' side (left hooker side) of the car. Maybe add more light sources?

This for me. It works OK as a product configurator, it's about as clunky as any other I've tried. But I'm not sure why you would want to create just another product configurator that doesn't really do anything different or better than what is already out there?

Can you please send a link to a dealer configurator that is similar or better. Would be very helpful.

BTW, this is designed for any product, not just cars.

Again, can you send a link to another configurator please. Whats others are there?

Pretty much all of the buttons!

The Cortex Coders image is pin-sharp but the buttons within the app are slightly blurry, I'm on a MBP with a retina screen which might make it more obvious too!

Also why has a car with the optional traffic-sign detection ended up on a golf course? biglaughwink

I am trying to minimise giving too much away at this stage wink

If you are happy to take a look I can PM the full details.

I just assumed he is a powerfully build company director asserting his dominance at the local club after winning the Sunday cup?

(Also the text for the Zion is at a lower res for me too!)

Happy to look at more things, I'm no expert though!!

Also the scroll bar on the right hand side, maybe 'lock' the upper design box and just have the scroll bar within the lower logo selection box?

EDIT: Also, if you close the colour box how do you re-open it?

EDIT 2: Worked it out, although when I first opened the app it was called "COL" but now it's called "TINT"?

You can colour the background, or you can change the colour (tint) the selected shaped objects, make a circle or square red etc..

Agreed this all needs to be clearer but thanks for trying it out, all helpful points!

http://home.lagoa.com/product-configurator/

Custom Gateway

Bespokeable - Which bundles everything into an ecommerce platform.

Simplio 3D

Powertrak 3D

Cl3ver

ThreeKit

360 Product Viewer - extension for Magento.

Very basic beginnings here that wouldn't be too difficult to expand upon: http://preview.codecanyon.net/item/3dmodel-configu...

That's just from a quick Google search, I'm sure there would be more, especially if there were more specific requirements that were needed.

Have you created it because you want to monetise the app itself, or do you have products that you want to sell that you want your customers to personalise?

Took ages to load, then presented me with something that looked like a 1990s video game.

I'm out.

Ah yes, although that means I didn't work out how to get the base colour box back then! boxedin

Thanks for the links, most of those I am aware of from previous research. They will not do what we require.

The app is for our own use to start with. We brand a lot of products. Think about the process of adding signage to a car, how would you do this yourself without specialised software or graphic design skills, its not possible.

We can upload templates or blueprints that fit the exact dims of the object. This can then be shared quickly with a client. They can also then mess around tweaking without us getting involved.

The app could be monetised by offering to similar companies they want to do the same, have not yet considered how to start that process, we will use our own business to iron out all the bugs first.
