Hi

I've just bought an E46 M3. I'm sure this question has been asked many times but I cant find it after half an hour of pressing "prev" !

The front seats are quite worn - particularly on the drivers bolster (seems a common problem).

Does anyone know where I could get the leather replaced for a reasonable cost ?

I've contacted one place and its 1800 quid for both front seats, full replacement. Probably a bit too steep for me.

Thanks in advance.

What colour are the seats? I'd be tempted to go secondhand. With searching I reckon a good set will come up cheaper.

I tend to agree Sebring.

Quarry motors have a reputation for breakers and they have a low mileage M3, maybe seats from that (or others) be cheaper

If the leather isn't torn, you could try reconnolising.
Check out liquidleather or furniture clinic.

Otherwise, check out bespokeleathering, who specialise in M3's over on the e36coupe site.

Hi Cactussed ... thanks. The quote for 1800 was from those guys. I'm sure they would do an excellent job, but I think that price is too much.

Its really just the side bolsters that are worn/torn.

Sebring/Smuler - thx I've looked at a few second hand sets of seats but most are quite worn. I guess its a waiting game until the right set come up.

I think I'm going to see if I can just get bespoke leathering to just change the side bolsters where most of the damage is.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm assuming 1800 is for a full retrim, rather than simply recondition with 1 or 2 panels replaced?

I'm selling the black nappa interior from my 2002 M3 coupe - previous owner had swapped the original kiwi leather our for this black set, but I'm putting it back to as it came from factory & I actually really like the kiwi!

Bolster on both seats are in nice condition. These are not heated front seats though. PM me if you're interested & I'll send you some close up pics

I got quoted £1250+VAT for a leather retrim of front seats, rear seats, centre armrest and door cards in an E90 yesterday. That's not from a dodgy backstreet place either, Transcal in Livingston are a pretty well known company.

Cheers,
Grant

Get on m3cutters and places you'll pick up a decent full heated set with little wear for probably 5-600. Loads of people making track cars so always plenty for sale.

@Cutcassed - yes front seats and armrest minus the head rests (which are fine)

If I had it done I think the car would be pretty much back to showroom condition.

@Ashburrows

Good advice .. I'll check out the site.

My car is a 56 plate so in general its not bad. Its just a couple of leather panels that are the problem and I'd rather try and replace them than repair.

I'm completely anal about car interiors !

Doesnt the wear on the leather accelerate as the bolster softens? So I would think you need to replace the bolster foam as well?
