Hi, I've just bought a Tasmin 280i, in the USA, which has front orange and rear red side repeater lights. This may be a silly question, but how do you change a bulb in these lights? No screws at the front and the plastic lens does not seem to want to separate from the rubber surround. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

The bulb pushes in from the back side. If I remember correctly, it's been a while since I removed mine but there are two nuts on the backside you remove to get them off.

Thanks Charlie - much appreciated. I'm struggling to see how to access the rear of the two front side marker lights - no obvious access unless I'm missing something?!

Hi

Not 100% with the US spec but you might have to remove the light pods.

No problem Derek,
Good guys on here. They have helped me over and over. My 350i is different in many ways to the US spec 280i. I have had a coupe and a DH 280i in the past though. Not many non 280i wedges in the states.
Where are you located and have you joined the club (TVRCCNA)?. Many resources there as well. Dominion Spares is the parts supplier in the states.
The club supplies tech manuals for the 280i based on articles written over the years.

If you need info you can feel free to contact me off site.

Can you post a photo of one of the repeaters?

Bill at Dominion is a good source. Another source for running gear is Norm at Team Blitz. He specializes in Capri which shared the 2.8 Cologne engine and more. Grady

Thanks guys. It seems that I would have to remove the headlight, but meanwhile the side repeater light has started working again! If it ain't broke don't fix it!

So the side repeater light gave up again! Received wisdom says remove the headlamp. I did this by turning the lights on and then killing the electrics at the battery. This meant the pods stayed up. I then removed the headlamp unit and bowl (left the pod in place) and managed to access the side repeater through the headlamp opening. Cleaned contacts, lens and fitted new bulb. Reassembled and - hey - everything works! Job done and thanks for the advice.
