My 2009 Kawasaki ZX6R is due to be taxed today therefore I began the process of sorting it all out online as per normal. Just out of curiosity I went on the Askmid website and it is listed as a Suzuki GSXR 1000, which is slightly concerning!

Does this mean my insurer has got it wrong or just the database? Is this what the police can see and would it cause me issues if I was pulled over?

It does make me wonder how my bike can be mistaken for a completely different make and model confused

I suggest speaking to your insurer at the earliest opportunity..

What does the V5C say, I guess that is also wrong as the Askmid lookup usually refers to a DVLA data extract.

What does it say on your certificate of insurance?

Often mistakes are made when details are passed over to various databases... parkmobile think my mercedes van is a "mercury" but its never been a issue or got a ticket etc.

My Scirocco is a DSG on some websites, but a manual on others. ???

It's a manual in "reel lyfe".

My understanding is that it reproduces the info the insurers have entered on their portal.

If the vehicle make and model details are wrong, you must contact your insurance provider to correct the information. askMID cannot update the Motor Insurance Database.
Why don't you follow the instructions on the website rather than starting a thread where 99.999% of people won't have a clue.

I have and the insurance company are as baffled as me as the bike is listed correctly with them and on the V5.

When I originally posted I was concerned about being stopped by the police any other issues that might be thrown up because of the anomaly hence I asked the question in case anyone may have had a similar issue and advice they may have.

If it's inconvenienced you by asking the question then may I suggest you don't bother replying with pointless, condescending remarks.

Wouldn't be much left to read if everybody followed that advice!
