These kinds of people don't care, same as joyriding scumbags who run red lights and crash into people trying to get away from the Police. The only care about themselves.

This case is particularly bad in that even knowing they killed someone they try and wriggle out of it by getting people to try and bribe the jury. Sadly I'm not holding out much hope for anything but a short stretch in prison before they are free to go out and cause more trouble.

15 & 12 years behind bars for the guilty and four years for the other one.
Not at bad day at the office for the judge.

Should give them all 10 years extra for jury tampering, not 'not hold it against them'

I suspect that this was said to minimise the chances of an appeal being successful based on some sort of prejudice on the part of the Judge. If he made comment about their behaviour in relation to jury tampering could it be argued that his sentence was biased by this? By saying that he 'didn't hold it against them' he may be openly saying that this didn't factor into his sentencing if challenged at a later date. In his own mind he might well have decided to be more punitive because of this but there wasn't a cat in hell's chance that he would say that in a public forum.
