So about four weeks ago I found myself in a BMW dealership. About three weeks ago I collected this.





This is the picture after It had been detailed and ceramic coated

Regards the car I can not fault it. I had a Mk3 Focus RS last summer and I prefer this. I waited 10Months for the Focus and I thought it was abit of an anti climax! This doesn't feel anyway near as planted as the Focus but as a daily with the odd weekend blast I can not fault it.

I have no real plans for the car although I am looking at the carbon rear spoiler and a possible remap.

Very nice - love the colour choices (I would do, I have a 440i with Silver and Coral). What re-map are you considering? BMW will do a deal (at least on the 4) on the performance pack if you push them. Enjoy - it's a great engine, great all-rounder car.

For a 'Grey' that's pretty spot on that.
Definitely one of very few cars I'm considering to replace my current car.

The mineral grey is definitely better than some other 'grey' cars about. So much so my old man has just trumped me and ordered a Mineral Grey M4 Comp pack which has slightly pissed me off.

Well I have joined the owners forum on Facebook and people are seeing decent gains from Dervtech they are seeing 400bhp safely. I am hesitant due to warranty issues and I am more than happy with the power currently. A lot seem to go down the JB4 and decat route but I wouldn't see myself entertaining this option as I don't like the idea of a "Plug & Play" would rather have a map suited for the individual car. Both would void warranty either way

BMW are stingy full stop. I would of had a few more extras but they had this car in stock and ready to go. Heinsite I would of tried a few more places but the inner child in me got excited and wanted it NOW.

you can have them but that's cost option of £650.

EFA: I didn't see your reply above.

I was thinking of doing the same with the M2 but i'm not going to bother until it's out of warranty. I don't want any issues, anyway the M240i and M2 are very quick cars as standard, but I know we always want that little bit extra.

Nice! Dervtech in Manchester seem to be cropping up a lot. From there posts they seem to know what they are doing with the both the N55 and the B58 which installs confidence. As previously posted I am happy with the power at the moment as I am yet to have a truly dry day to have a proper play! Me and a few friends will be heading to the EVO triangle as soon as we see abit of sun!

I really wanted to like these but whenever I see them about I think they look a bit chubby, especially at the rear, swage line to high perhaps.

hah I bet, if I had the money for an M4 I would!

Mineral grey is a very nice colour, if you actually get the sun on a panel (unlikely given the current weather!) you'll find the fleck has all sorts of colours - green, blues, purple, yellows its quite surprising when you first see it.

Looks good OP. take care of the tailpipe trims, they tend to get pitted...

Got a mineral grey 240 convertible, brown roof and leather fully debadged.

On 1500 miles now, for what they are there really good. Surprises a few as well

BMW replace them no quibbles at all. See babybmw forum about it. I have an m135i one of the very last before the m140i came out I wished I had waited but it was a pre ref and I got it for a steal as the new number plate was coming in a weeks time.

Reference mapping, babybmw and the Facebook page a lot seem to go to performance developments up Newcastle way. They have a very good reputation although mine is standard.

Mine has power memory seats bloody brilliantly means when the wife drives it I don't spend months getting it just right again.

I used to have a z4 not have the 2 series. Definitely doesnt feel as special as the z but mine was a 28i 2 litre so engine makes up for it.

Personally if doing again i might be tempted with waiting for z4 replacement and get the 3 litre if you dont need the rear seats. As good as the 2 series is it can feel like a normal car whereas the z always felt a bit special.

I've got an LCI M135 too, although a bit older than yours. My trims are holding up so far, it seems a half decent sealant helps. As you say they can be replaced under warranty no problems. Chrome tips from a 435 fit and gave exactly the same design, apparently they corrode in the same way but not as badly. I'm waiting to see what the guy from BCS comes up with it regard to stainless replacements.

I'm not too bothered about the b58 engine, the n55 is tried and tested, not like the car is short on power or torque. Plus I could have waited but if you start playing that game you'll never but anything as something else is always coming.

I read on one of the Facebook pages the mx40i run into fueling issues above 400bhp and require fueling mods to go higher. There are plenty of mx35i about putting mid 400 bhp figures out with decat, exhaust, intake and jb4.

There's even some up at 500bhp running methonal injection. Personally can't see why you need 500bhp, the car is bloody quick with 330bhp and struggles to get power down in the cold and damp. 500bhp must be insane.
