Has anyone else had an email pretending to be from selfridges?
My mrs had one earlier with a pdf receipt allegedly from the Selfridges store in Manchester. It smells fishy to me as I was at work and she was at home but we will check with the bank on monday just in case a card has been cloned.
Any other (sensible) comments?

Is there a link in the email? hover over it and you will see where it will take you in the bottom left.

A legit one will also be addressed to her name, a scam will either just say 'dear customer' or 'dear [email'

Don't purely base them on the name. They can buy your name and email..

Just for closure
Nothing has left the cc or bank accounts so I am going to write this off as attempted phishing.

The PDF bill is probably actually a virus rather than a phising attempt.

I would not advise opening any attachments. You can also verify from the e-mail address that sent the e-mail if it's likely to come from a genuine source or not.

Selfridges do send e-receipts to the email address you give them at the till, if you give them one. The assistant probably typed it in wrong, or the shopper got it wrong.

If you're not expecting it though, delete it and ignore.
