Dashboard/heater lights

Does anyone know how to switch off/diffuse the lights on the heater switch? I like driving my chim at night without dash lights on so the heater lights are very distracting. I don't feel that they fulfill a purpose so would like to know how to get rid of them. Same goes for the full beam light as mine flickers. Any suggestions gratefully received.

All those LEDs apart from the blower speed control are fed from an ignition switched live (Green) in the dash. The easiest fix would be to remove the ignition supply and connect them to the dash illumination circuit (Red/White) which you already know you can kill with the switch under the dash.
The blower control is fed from the module so not as easy to resolve but the wires feeding the LED are on the outside of the switch so could also be connected instead to the dash illumination but will require some more delicate soldering.

If the high beam lamp flickers when it should not be on then you have a duff lights stalk on the steering column.

Thanks Steve - that is really helpful. I'll have a look at that wiring.
The full beam dash light flickers with full beam on, which drives me crazy when the rest of the cabin is in darkness. Is there an LED that can just be removed? Its pretty obvious when the full beam is on anyway. (getting some Lupos fitted soon which should make a big difference).I think the dash-off switch is a great feature to help focus on the road at night.

May still be worth experimenting with the column stalk and see if you can induce or stop the flicker by moving the control around.
