Newbie to this forum, and fairly useless at tech, so hoping somebody can help....

We have a Samsung 6 series hd TV, about 6 years old. Generally works wells, but always have issues watching stuff via BBC iPlayer.
After about 20 minutes, it freezes and crashes back to channel.

I have had a search, and can't see anything similar, except that Samsung say not all sets are compatible with iPlayer.

My broadband is crap(thanks BT), about 3.5mb

Does anyone have a similar experience? Is it the tv? Or iPlayer?

My model isn't classed as a'smart' tv, and no other to apps are available.

Any advise would be useful, before my wife throws it thru the window!!😱

Thanks

Mike

o experience directly, but I dare say the iPlayer has been updated but the app on your TV has not. Could be your internet connection, does it work on your computer? 3.5MB should be enough but if it frequently drops out you'll have issues, though I'd expect stuttering/pausing rather than crashes.

Your best option might be something like an Amazon firestick:

(check that has whatever smart features you need, I believe it's pretty good though) or a smart BluRay player to bring your TV's smart abilities back up-todate.

This is why people should never base a TV buying decision on its apps or smart functionality.

Manufactures will drop support after 3-4 years. Just buy a TV with the best sound and picture you can afford and stick in a firestick/bluray player/Apple TV/ Roku etc. For a few quid to do the smart bits and replace it when needed
