I'm turning 17 this year and looking to get insurance for our series 2 land rover, I was wondering if I would be able to get classic car insurance and if so anyone has a rough idea of how much it might be a year. It's got the 2.6 litre straight 6 engine

I suspect that most classic policies usually require you to have normal insurance on an every day car. When I was your age it was suffice just to be named on my mother's car but it's a different world these days.

You're probably best to just phone up whichever broker is supporting the lro club at present.

I think the biggest problem you'll have is that for a classic policy you generally need to have access/use of another vehicle. I'm certain not all company's will cover 17 year olds so just have a phone around and see. I'd try Lancaster, Footman James, Heritage etc. My Series 3 costs about £140 a year but I'm 20 years older than you!
