Hmm too many cars! which one???

Hi all

hope you lot can point me in the right direction. I'm look at getting a TVR this summer (when I sell my MR2) I'm looking for either an S1 or S2 but maybe a 3000M/Tamar now the problem I have is I'm only 21 I've had good quotes on an M (around £500 a year fully comp) but for an S my best one so far is £800 which is too much for a second car.

So first question does anyone know of a company that will give me a good Quote???

Secondly would I be able to pick up a good S, M or Tamar with a budget of 3000 - 5000??

It depends whether you want soft top motoring, if you don't, an M is a great choice and your budget will easily get you a good example.
If you do want soft top motoring and as a second car I can recomend it, a decent S1 would creep into the top range of your budget, its the chassis on all buys that is important.
Insurance I am not so sure about but there are plenty of young owners on the S forum who could put you in the right direction, as a second car I would put a 5k limit on my mileage and find out which companies allow young drivers, do a search on the forums.

£5K will pick you up a good S1, but £800 for insurance is pretty good. When I was 21 I was quoted £1500 for my first year on my S3. On my Griff I've been quoted up to £10K!!

if you are concerned re £300 ins then dont buy a TVR of any sort.

Very true. The excess on my TVR policies are huge. If you're determined on getting the quote under £1000 you'll probably not be going into TVR ownership until you're at least 23.
