B7 RS4 Bluetooth
Discussion
Hi everyone
New to Pistonheads and having recently purchased my B7 RS4 ( after wanting one for a long time ). Will slowly be going down the upgrade path so hoping to pick up on all the knowledge on hear. So Bluetooth, the car was supposed to have it but I can't connect my phone? Am I correct in thinking that it can't stream music and is only for phone conversations? Also how do you connect the phone. If this thread is in the wrong place my apologies.

depends if the bluetooth module is installed or not - if you search from your phone it should pick up 'Audi MMI' and 4 numbers - if it doesn't it's either off, or not there
I've previously come across an RS with the coding incorrect so although the module was fitted the unit wasn't communicating with it!
post a pic of the 3 letter codes from your service book and they can be decoded easily

Thanks
I'll dig the book out, if it's off how do you turn it back on?
Coding change with VCDS if that's the problem, although I think (I've sold my car with RNS-E) from the phone menu if you press setup there might be a software option to switch it off? I'll dig the book out, if it's off how do you turn it back on?
Most likely it was just not specced
I've just recently had a JL Audio MBT-RX fitted to my old RS4 to bring it up-to-date a bit, and it's a cracking bit of kit and means the car looks as it left the factory and now means i can stream music without any cables etc. It's hidden alongside the fuses, under the dashboard. I already had factory fit bluetooth but def worth speaking to any decent audio fitter to see if there's a work-around for incorporate phone integration too.
