I've searched the forums for the answer but it's rather inconclusive, so has anyone*actually* fitted/had-fitted something that extends the steering wheel position, eg. by using a spacer like this: www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/catalogue/product_detail.asp?PCODE=OMPODC022141&GRP=MC033&PGRP=MP020&CLS=MSPORT&code=OMPODC022141&from=search

I'm thinking about doing this myself so does anyone know if it a tricky job to do or should I ask the factory?

It is 12 allan bolts in total. Easy peasy.

I had the removable boss but Marc in the states had an extension piece.

Thank Nathan.

I'll probably go for a fixed extender of around 2". That way if it's too long I can just use the normal steering column adjustment to shorten it again.

I did as part of installing the Tekniq's removable steering wheel hub. It moves it exactly 2" closer to you and you also have the benefit of being able to remove the steering wheel for easier entry and exit as well as for security. Photos can be seen at:

Looks like it might be the one for me but first couple of questions:-

1. Caccobra: you say it extends 2", www.tekniqauto.com/US/snapoff/SOFaq.htm#q7 says 1.25" ("Option #1"). Which is correct?

2. Anyone know where you can you get it in the UK (as it might end up being cheaper)?

This should do it, but you'll need to call them to check, and get the price :

www.motorsportworld.co.uk/frame-detail.asp?PAGE=/snap-off-kit.htm

If you just want a spacer without the lock, GPR and demontweeks sell them for 30 quid or so.

It extends 2" because you will need to order it with the MOMO wheel adapter too.

Thanks Dan & Craig ... I'll phone motorsportworld.co.uk next week and see what I can do.
