What is the claim made up of? Is there credit hire involved?

It'll be fine. I wouldn't worry about it. The other parties insurer are probably dragging their feet in making payment or there's a dispute over the hire fees. It will be settled before any final hearing I would have thought.

Hire charges can easily escalate. A standard hatchback can warrant a daily hire rate of £50 plus vat per day. Then you have your own repairs or write off value, storage charges at £30 a day, interest etc etc

What car was it and how long did you have the hire car for?

You would have been aware of this when you signed the contract for the credit hire vehicle.

Well there's something very wrong there then.

Either your car was repaired in which case you will be claiming for the repair costs or it was written off in which case you'll be claiming for the "Pre Accident Value" i.e. the car's worth before the accident. You can't claim for both. Probably best to speak to the solicitors who are acting for you tomorrow.

Don't lose any sleep over it pal. Clearly it's a mix up by the people who are claiming for the repair costs on your behalf. Nothing you've done wrong so no criticism can be levelled at you.

I was a bit annoyed as my immediate thoughts (based on conversations with them in the past) were that they were trying it on.
They are solicitors, that is what they do!

I hit a £800 Escort at less than 10mph, total cost was circa £12,000.

I got hit in my E92 on the Motorway, with damage / repair / hire car, total cost was over £20,000, damage was around £6,000. Four weeks of hire car charges ....
