I ordered one for Mrs F on the 22nd December 16. It is due to be built this month and delivered in April.

That's great, thanks. If we could still get it in time for summer would be great....don't really want to take delivery of a Boxster in winter.

Seems like very reasonable times compared with the 718 Cayman.

Wonder why the lead times are so different? Is it demand or the way Porsche is allocating build slots between the 2 models?

I understand the differing lead times is because they are moving production line for Cayman. I was talking to OPC about forthcoming GTS and was advised Boxster delivery will be OK but Cayman is likely to see restricted supply until production move is completed

I was told the very same thing when I enquired about a Cayman. Current lead times are circa 12 months.

Makes sense and I'd been told the same by OPC.

Rather naiviely, I'd assumed the Boxster and Cayman were built at the same factory on similar lines..

"We" as in Mrs Cheib is going Paint to Sample so looks like it's going to be end of the year before we can get one.

You can take mine if you like, not really using it.
