Purely academic, but after all the debate, now we know - there's a clear choice.
Whether you are one of the lucky few deciding now, a potential future buyer, or just have an opinion, what would you choose, taking into account personal preference and the likely future for enthusiasts' sports cars?

Would have to drive the cars in each form first to come to a 'fair' decision. Without doing so it's hard to say how well the manual fits the car which probably is designed around the dual clutch gearbox. A manual gearbox in a car with one heck of a lot of active systems would almost feel 'wrong' in some respects imo and still would be a far cry from a properly analogue feeling car.
Not in the market to buy one, but I'd take manual if I was.
Have spent some time in my brother-in-laws 991.1 GT3, and although the gearbox is impressive, when combined with the silly long gearing, it wouldn't be something I'd want in a road car... if I was going to track it extensively, then I'd take PDK.

How different is the gearing in the manual GT3.2?Have spent some time in my brother-in-laws 991.1 GT3, and although the gearbox is impressive, when combined with the silly long gearing, it wouldn't be something I'd want in a road car... if I was going to track it extensively, then I'd take PDK.

For mainly road use; 6-speed manual, with ceramics, folding buckets and a few other niceties. The best and most satisfying 911s I've ever driven have been manuals and, with N.A. and a rear engine layout, I can't see this combination being repeated.
For mainly track use; I can see Club Sport, PDK, fixed buckets and steels would make more logical sense.

Manual for me,
However had an e-mail from Reading telling me unlucky this time round but keeping me in the hat for 2018.
Not sure about Nottingham I had a couple of e-mails asking for a letter of intent this week (which I had already sent) and that they would then be discussed at DP level. Probably missed out there this time round as most seem to have heard and been asked to place deposit still we will see.
Would suit me waiting until 2018 so will keep fingers crossed.
In case it assists, Andreas talks about the 'manual' v 'PDK' rationale here:

PDK for me, IMHO the box in my .1 was epic a worked well with the car, can see the .2 with PDK being even better.
I guess there will be a lot who order manual as they feel it's the best option for future values being perhaps the last na manual GT3, who knows.
If I get one (I have been asked to pay deposit and have done so) I will drive it as my main car and not care about the mileage, why have a car like that and not use it?
