Disco 5 tow bar

Picking mine up tomorrow and dealer has just said that they can't fit the deployable tow bar as it doesn't work and they can only fit a removable one which doesn't have all the fancy electronics!

Anyone else heard that?

As per LR's website, the D5 has as an option a deployable towbar. It's a dealer fit. When the dealer says that it doesn't work is this because the towbar is faulty or are they not competent fitting it?

Could be that you've ordered a full sized spare wheel or a space saver in which case, if it's like my DS, the deployable towbar will not fit. You need the puncture repair kit stuff instead.

No, the deployable towbar is no longer an option across the board! It was a factory option on all other Disco 5's except the first edition which became a dealer fit at £2000! But no one can do it!

If it helps, the launch car at my local dealer had the electric deployable tow bar! Worked fine.
Was still an option yesterday morning when I spec'ed one up on the internet.
A full sized spare might bugger this up however, I don't know.

It was the launch car. Had a great chat with one of the "proper" Land rover guys about the whole car.
Tow Bar definitely work on it as he showed me!
Another point to note is that with the in-control apps thing you can remotely start your car and set the temperature etc on a cold morning so no need to order the separate remote start option ;-)
