Next car - don't want to get old!
Discussion
Background - 32 years old, married, mechanic, 1 year old son. Previous cars - 6 RS Clios (172, 182, 200) R53 JCW, various temp cars like Leon Cupra TDi.
I'd love to do another track day, nothing fancy, just a run round Blyton Park again. My Mrs' Golf R has just gone back, and we await a Tiguan, so can't use that!
I've been looking at 172/182s again, 206 GTi 180s, Polo GTis (9N3), and even MG ZR 160s. What else can I put into my eBay search, for less than £1500, that will put a smile on my face round a track, but also do 8 miles a day to work in relative comfort?!

Im also 55, Drive a Scirocco R 280 bhp[quickly], a TVR Chimaera at weekends, [very quickly] especially on sunny days, with the roof off. Don't want the bald patch to get burnt.
I have a wife who is 27 years old, and last year spent 3 weeks touring around Japan just for the hell of it !
Also went to the San Siro stadium in Milan to watch AC versus Inter.....Flares....Fireworks....plenty of Peroni..........and general chaos......why not ?
God life sucks .....................................especially when you get older !

Dont shoot me.....!

These things are getting silly cheap now
I run a 1999 - 225 Quattro as my daily. Comfy, reasonable on fuel (Just over 29mpg average) and quick if you want it to be.
Not the best handling things in the world, but some mods and it'll feel a lot sharper.

MR2 would probably be towards the top of my list.
MX5 and MG ZS could also be interesting if you can find a good one.
I'd love a ZR 160 but finding a decent one is very difficult. MX5 and MG ZS could also be interesting if you can find a good one.
They are either ruined or silly money!
Now the ZS 180's pop up occasionally for reasonable money....
£750!!
