Training/Notice
Discussion
Looking for some advice from you knowledgeable chaps.
Looking for a new role and have some interviews lined up.
Although I have some employer funded external training coming up very shortly which I don't want to get charged for later down the track if I hand in my notice.
Do I be upfront and politely decline the training and suggest they send someone else?
I have always been advised not to mention anything until I have a signed contract, but by then, it would be too late.
What's the best course of action here?

Does your contract state they can claw it back or have you signed anything to that effect - if no then keep schtum!
Yes it does. To be honest I'm not sure they will follow through with that part, but they will be pissed because they are only sending 2 employees in total and the skills are required for an important upcoming project. It will be an awkward conversation either way I think, but I don't want to 'expose' myself.
Never a good idea, the sex offenders register tends to have a negative affect on employment
If the course will be of benefit to you I'd go and risk the clawback. If not can you not invent something a consultant hospital appt you cannot miss, a funeral some way away, Ill/dying relative, ultimately throw a sickie? Can you push the new employers for a written offer - if you explain you don't want to mess your current employers around surely they'd appreciate that?
